INAUGURATION OF FLIGHTS TO WELGEVONDEN GAME RESERVE

Welgevonden Game Reserve and Unique Air have announced a landmark partnership to introduce shuttle charter flights based on a seat rate, directly from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA) to the reserve’s main private airstrip. Beginning 1 December 2025, the new service will be available three times a week offering travellers a seamless and time-efficient way to reach Nungubane Game Lodge. The flight time from ORTIA to the Welgevonden Game Reserve’s main airstrip is 40 minutes. Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with arrivals and departures around midday to coincide with Nungubane’s check-in and check-out times. Guests receive a dedicated check-in at ORTIA B12 check in counter, VIP meet-and-greet service, and access to the Bidvest Lounge. Flight reservations can be made directly with Nungubane Game Lodge. The new service removes the need for lengthy road transfers or extra connections. On arrival at the Welgevonden Game Reserve main airstrip, guests will be met by a representative from Nungubane Game Lodge. They will then be transferred to the Lodge by safari vehicle.
